Rome sightseeing tours
Rome, where a project had been made for the subway to the purpose to have some underground services of transport to the height of Paris, London or New York has never been able to realize this project, because the excavations had to stopevery 3 or 4 days because of an archaeological recovery, later which the jobs took back with a new permission of the Cultural Office and Ministery.
Visiting Rome with private driver give you the chance to have a good background of the history of Rome.
Fortunately, from one side the project has been abandoned and in this way "the cities under the city"won't risk to be destroyed forever, only waitingto manually be recovered according to the archaeological criteria.
Enjoy the visit to the art works of Rome with private escort.
Unfortunately, because this renouncement to the project left the problem oftransportsin surface and of pollution against the artandthe monuments of every epoch beginning from the Roman age. The Mayor adopted then some restrictions to the traffic for the zones of archaeological interest and in those zonesa cleaner air breathes too.
This cleaner air will make you have the pleasure of a show that only Rome can offer you in only one day tour.
Your driver-guide will come to take you in hotel and your tour will start from:
- THE CAPITOL HILL, seat of the actual Mayor of Rome and ancient public library in Rome from the I° century before Christ;
- PIAZZA VENEZIA, where is the monumentto Vittorio Emanuele II°, (our last king), called by the Romans "the typewriter";
- THE COLOSSEUM, theater of great battles with gladiators, fierce beasts and Roman ships;
- THE ROMAN FORUM, testimony of the presence of kings, republics and Empires thathave known how to conquer the world;
- THE CIRCUS MAXIMUS, that has been the greatest arena with its spectacular chariot races that the world has ever seen and the MOUTH OF TRUTH, test of fidelity from the times of the first middle age;
- THE TREVI FOUNTAIN, that makesdream million of tourists to return to Rome with its elegance;
- SPANISH STEPS, that have become some world centers of fashion and shopping with their famous stairs and the near via Condotti.
After a standstill for the lunch (optional) in a traditional restaurant of the Roman cuisine, the tour will continue with the greatest collection of art that earth has ever had:
- THE VATICAN MUSEUMS, in the Vatican City, the smallest State of the world;
- THE SIXTIN CHAPEL, the dexterity, the art and the heart in the hands of immense painters;
- THE ST.PETER'S BASILICA, symbol of the Christians of the whole world from 1700 years.
In the late afternoon your driver-guide it will bring you back to the hotel.
The rates are in Euros. They include the driver-guide for all the duration of the tour and don't include gratuities, lunch and entrance fees.
Entrance fees:
- Colosseum 10 Euros (with us you will avoid the line)
- Vatican Museumsand Sixtine Chapel 12 Euros
Notes:
- dress respectfully for visiting religious monuments; local custom requires covering knees and shoulders
- keep an eye on your wallet and purses at all time. Do not wear jewerly or carry large amount of cash
- If you are a group of 12-14 persons, it could seem much easier to make the excursion with only one bus, but it's not because the buses with more than 8 people have not the permission to get in the restricted area of Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps and you are forced to get off and to walk for some miles making the tour harder and losing a lot of time and things to see.
We can avoid this problem doing the tour with a luxury Minivan (up to 6 people) and a luxury Minibus (up to 8 people) together, resulting to you in a lower physical effort and more time to enjoy. - The Vatican Museums (and the Sistine Chapel) are always closed on Sundays (except the last of each month),and also on; January 1st and 6th, February 11th, March 19th, April 1st, May 1st, 9th and 30th, June 29th, August 14th and 15th, November 1st, December 8th, 25th and 26th.
