You can't come to Rome without visiting the Colosseum !
And here therefore to sprout as a rabbit from the hat one of the wonders that it has been being the pride and the call in Rome since 2000 years, in which all the people hastened for assisting to the Ludi , to see gladiators, liberti, fierce beasts, Christians' sacrifices, Reziari and naval battles of enormous dimensions: the Colosseum.
The roman Colosseum is, after the vatican, the second most visited monument in Rome with around 2 million visitors every year and if you join our sightseeing excursions, you will be able to spend with us at least one hour inside and several minutes driving around with our limousines to have a general idea of the extension and the shape of the most famous stadium in the ancient world.
This immense amphitheater (amphi: twice) whose imposing ruins allow us to admire its ancient shine , was initiated from Vespasian in 72 A.D. and completed by his son Titus in80 A.D. andwas built by Jewish prisoners. It's true name is Flavian Amphiteater, despite it had been called Colosseum for its proportions and for its proximity to the colossus of Nero.
There is no page of the Roman history that is not connected to the Colosseum, that has become the symbol of the city.
The preferred shows in the time of ancient Rome were the Ludi Circenses (games of the Circus) created for maintaining the warrior spirit that made the Romans the conquerors of the world.
The Colosseum had a capacity of around 50.000 thousands visitors and had also fountains divided in four levels because a roman aqueduct brought the water inside the stadium and going with your private escort on top of the main floors you can admire a wonderful view of the Roman Forum and of the Arch Constantine.
